Organizational Overview:
The Niagara 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council was created as a cross-border non-profit organization to increase public awareness and participation in the Bicentennial. The Bicentennial will mark the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 and the 200 years of peace between Canada and the United States that followed. The Legacy Council is coordinating and facilitating a number of 1812 Bicentennial initiatives by local groups across Niagara.
Funding Focus:
The Legacy Council has a small projects fund for 1812-related local groups to further develop community projects that would be of aid to essential efforts in the cross-border region of Niagara. Through these Niagara-based projects, the Legacy Council is interested in fostering interest in the bicentennial by inclusivity of all ages as well as first nations and diverse multi-culturalism across Niagara.
Budget:
The Legacy Council will receive proposals up to the amount of $5000 per proposal.
Legacy Council Vision:
The 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council has a vision of bi-national cooperation, cultural appreciation and economic development in the bi-national Niagara Region resulting from the celebrations of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812.
Project/Proposal Criteria:
1)Project must be Niagara-wide based.
2)Project must be directly related to the Bicentennial of the War of 1812.
3)Organization must provide a brief description, key dates, partners, contacts, estimated budgets and need for funding for the proposed project.
Rating Factors/Weighting (Scoring 0-10):
1)Quality of Submission (20%, 5% each)
-Overall Impression
-Overall Quality of the RFP Submission
-Completeness of the Submission
-Understanding of the Vision
2)Experience in Related Projects (70%)
-Experience in Similar type of Projects (15%)
-Project Experience (15%)
-Applicability to all of Niagara per Legacy Council (40%)
3)Are Project Proposal and Identified Resources Realistic (10%)
