Brock University Commemorates Namesake

The Brock 1812 Bicentenary Committee will hosts the “General Brock Commemoration” on Friday, Oct. 16 to honour the University’s namesake Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock who died on Oct. 13, 1812 during the Battle of Queenston Heights in the War of 1812.

The tribute will begin at 10:45 a.m. with the Fort George Fife and Drum Corps and uniformed re-enactors marching along University Road, under the Canadian Tire bridge, up to the front of Schmon Tower.

The service will begin at 11 a.m. in front of the Tower with the lowering of the flag by a small detachment from the Lincoln and Welland Regiment.

Hot cider will be served after the ceremony.
